SCHEDULING & ATTENDANCE 

Be sure to check Sling often for any updates with your schedule. You should check Sling every day that you work.

  • Schedules are published weekly, usually no later than Thursday. 

  • WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY SCHEDULES. Things change very quickly with Amazon so we will never guarantee a certain schedule. We will always try our best to schedule the days you prefer, and often we are able to accommodate. 

  • Priority scheduling goes to our employees that have been here the longest. So the longer you are here, the more likely you are to have your requests met.

  • You can set your availability on Sling. This tells us that you want the same day off every week. You must leave at least 1 weekend day open.

  • You can request a day off through Sling, which is different from setting unavailability. This will show up as a one time request instead of repeating every week. Instructions with pictures are on the Sling newsfeed under the page called "How to update your schedule".

  • Time off and PTO requests must be submitted by Wednesday, before the next week's schedule comes out.

  • A scheduled appointment is not an excused absence. You can schedule for a day you do not work. Or, you can alert us that it has been scheduled by Wednesday so that we can give you that day off.

ATTENDANCE POINTS

Missing work really hurts the whole team. Please ensure you schedule non-work activities on your days off. Everyone is given access to the employee handbook at payroll sign up, and it is always available on ADP and in a hard copy at our desk. Here is a snippet of the points system for your reference:


.50 Point Tardiness
1 Point Unexcused Absence consisting of an entire shift or more than one (1) hour of a shift. Must call in.
1.5 Points Unexcused Absence which occurs on a Weekend (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday). Must call in.
2 Points Unexcused Absence which occurs on a Holiday or Prime period. This also includes The time period from November 1 through December 31. Must call in.
3 Points All No Call, No shows.


Penalty
Four (4) Points: written reprimand
Five (5) Points: 1 week suspension
Six (6) Points: termination

 

If you do have an excuse such as a doctor's note, please email a copy ASAP to HR@theEmpireLogistics.com so that your points are properly adjusted. You have 5 days to submit your excuse. The penalties may escalate depending on the circumstances of the offense, and may skip steps and go directly to termination.

HOLIDAYS

We get 4 holidays off per year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4, and Jan 1. These are days off, so you do not get paid for these days. Most of the holidays we work are paid at the regular rate. There are some holidays that we will provide a special bonus pay, contest or gift, such as Labor Day and Christmas Eve, but none of them are guaranteed. If there will be a special prize or bonus pay, it will be announced via sling usually the same day or the day before. You can use your PTO on days not worked if you want, to do that you will just request it through ADP.
